A New Chapter: Writing for Ideal Home with my Own Column
A little update from me, and one I’m really excited to share. I’m now writing for Ideal Home, bringing together my love of interiors, design and storytelling in a regular column inspired by real homes and real life.
There’s been a bit of a shift happening behind the scenes at Nat’s Design Studio. While design will always be at the heart of what I do, over the last few years interiors have taken up more and more space in both my work and my life. And now, writing has found its way back in too.
I’m so excited to be writing a regular column for Ideal Home as one of their Open House contributors.
It feels like a very natural meeting point for so many of the things I love: interiors, writing, design, creativity and, perhaps most importantly, real homes.
My column gives me a space to talk about the reality of creating a home that looks beautiful but also has to work for everyday life. Because as much as I love a perfectly styled room, I also have two children, a cat, family life and all the stuff that comes with it.
I write about the decorating decisions I make in my own home, the things I’ve learnt along the way, colour, art, styling, products I genuinely love and the little changes that can completely alter how a room feels. Oh and a few unpopular opinions…
My approach to interiors has never really been about following a set of rules. I’m much more interested in creating spaces that have personality and tell you something about the people who live there and that’s something I’m looking forward to exploring even more through my column.
