Minimalist Monochrome

Alexandra Merri from The Bijou Bride: For this wedding inspiration shoot I wanted to create something new with a stylish edge that could stand the test of time. The Curtain was the perfect space located in East London it has the contemporary cool vibes down to a T; industrial chic views over buzzing London and the tromp l’oeil walls in their event space couldn’t have been more fitting.

Monochrome is a colour palette choice that is timeless and forever chic. You really can’t go wrong. Working with a monochrome theme each element was carefully curated, you could say minimal but each piece is a statement in its own right that deserves appreciation. As wedding suppliers, we see all the trends within the industry for our businesses but wanted to flex our creative muscles with pieces/designs that when combined created something fresh.

For the shoot, we created a new take on the popular hanging floral installations working with just one type of bloom hung by the stem from sumptuous, chunky black velvet ribbons. Similarly, a bouquet created with just one type of flower. The effect is really stunning. Sometimes less (and by less I mean carefully considered) is more.

Flowers

Understated and elegant flowers by Catherine Short Floral Design helped created the overall look. Both the single stems of Anemones and the hanging installation look divine. As does the bouquet of all white Genista florals.

Wedding Cakes

Gaya’s Cakes went to town creating not one but four elegant modern wedding cakes. A striking glossy black and white tiered creation with bold white chocolate shards. A grey concrete effect showstopper with hand painted gold details and a beautifully tempered chocolate topper. A white cake with lace sugar work and perfect black edges. And a varying height three tiered design with incredible gold deckle edge icing work. And then a whole array of petit fours with high shine paint splatter effect truffles and marble chocolate topped chop buns.

Wedding Decor

Varying height concrete pillars from Wedhead were used to form a ceremony backdrop. A simple solution to add a luxurious industrial feel whether left plain or dressed with flowers or candles. Throughout the shoot, there are materials at their most raw – concrete, bare wood tables, clear perspex chairs, torn edge napkins. Mixing the London setting’s industrial city vibes with delicate details to make a fashionable statement.

Bridal Beauty

We wanted to let the model’s natural beauty shine and Cat from Unveil accentuated her natural beauty with glossy products and pretty pink tones. Her long black locks were styled into velvet tied ponytails, loose waves and also an effortless looking looped low bun.

Photography

The talented Igor Demba was behind the lens, who has certainly brought a little magic to the captures with his signature emotive style.
